The Jewish Theater in Warsaw was established in 1950 as a result of a merger of two theater companies active in Wroclaw and Lodz from 1945 to 1950. In 1955 it moved to Warsaw.
The Theater is a continuator of and an heir to a rich tradition of Jewish stages in Poland of the interwar period. The shows are played in both the Yiddish and Polish languages.
