Bunker Hill

In order to maintain a continuous product development Gustafs have ongoing cooperation with suppliers , designers and other interesting parties within our branch. One of these is Daniel Franzén

Daniel Franzén is an interior architect and furniture designer. He has a company called Bunker Hill and he also teaches design and related subjects at Nacka High School. He was educated at Nyckelviksskolan and University College of Arts Crafts and Design.

He also spent one year in Japan at Tohoku University of Art & Design. He works with various materials and designs everything from jewellery to interior details for houses and shops.
 - I started with painting but realised quickly that it was design I really wanted to work with. I enjoy solving problems and apply a new aesthetic to whatever I work with.

Swedish Form provided the contact between Gustafs and Daniel
 - I think Gustafs breadth is exciting. They have a large market and do fine things in a beautiful material. It felt easy to come in with some new product suggestions.

The cooperation has resulted in patterns Leaf and Stella. Leaf is leaf pattern laser cut in sheet steel.
 - I wanted to introduce a more decorative segment. You don’t have to cover an entire wall. Sometimes it is sufficient with just one panel as a decorative element. Both patterns have a connection to nature. They also blend in nicely with the Scandinavian design idea.

Wood is a material which appeals to Daniels senses.
 - It is a natural, easily accessed and beautiful material which has infinite variation.

Pattern: Leaf.
Design: Daniel Franzén, Bunker Hill.

Stainless steel on oak.
