Wall installation

Gustafs Panel System® is fitted on to walls by means of Capax mounting profiles. Each panel is locked on all four sides by means of Capax profiles. The profiles are fitted on to a screwable base that is firmly anchored in the underlying construction.

In order to achieve a fully satisfactory result it is important for the underlay to be well balanced vertically and horizontally. If the panel wall is perforated or slotted and is to serve as a sound absorber, the under-construction is extended so that a space is created for mineral wool insulation and air gaps. The mineral wool shall always be placed tight behind the panel.

Wall construction

Gustafs Panel System® can be fitted on most types of underlay. Before the fitting commences the fitter must ensure himself that the construction behind is well anchored and dimensioned in order to bear the weight of the panel wall. This applies in particular to high walls and large areas.

The following parts are examples of how the Capax profile system is employed in respect of different joints, corners and ends. Pay particular attention to how the Capax system is employed with regard to cut panels (edge A) in order to be able to absorb discrepancies and adjustments.

1. Putting up battens behind the panels.

2. Adjusting surface alignment by inserting spacers behind the battens.

3. Inserting mineral wool slabs between battens.

4. Checking and sorting panels according to colour and grain pattern.

5. Fastening of lower start profile.

6. Screwing in the joint profile.

7. Fixing the next panel.

8. Sawing the panel from the back. Use tools with extraction facilities.
